Beautifully made and finished 'heirloom quality' tools from the USA. Improving on original Stanley designs and using only the finest materials and meticulous attention to detail, these tools are a joy to own and use.

Clifton tools are made by Clico in Sheffield, England. Traditionally made planes are fitted with the improved 'bedrock' frog to allow adjustment without removing the blade. Thick, high carbon steel blades, are hammer-forged in the traditional way.

The Block Plane is a very versatile small plane that fits nicely in one hand. When fitted with an adjustable mouth it can be set up for fine trimming and finishing work, as well as quick stock removal. The low angle version is designed for end grain and fine finishing work, whilst the standard angle versions are better suited for long grain work.

Thicker blades in high carbon steel to reduce blade chatter and increase the time between sharpening.
